Something to try

Google has a new search tool, that includes stuff on one's harddrive. That sounds like something worth testing. A review (with technical content) can be found here. (Full disclosure: I hold Google stock.)

Yeah, it's cool. Very, very fast. Sadly, I can only use it at work (where I use Windows) and not at home (where I use Mac). Since you're an owner of Google, maybe you can light a fire under them regarding the Mac version of Google desktop... Fortunately, the new Mac OS (Tiger) will have a similar "fast hard-drive search" tool called Spotlight built in, so I can at least enjoy that.

[Side note: the new Mac OS's browser will have an RSS viewer built-in, along with the capability of detecting RSS feed availabilities at regular sites you visit].
